The Bataclan, November 2015 Paris Attacks - 13.11.2015

In November 2015, Paris was hit by a series of devastating coordinated terror attacks. Over the course of a single night, nine marauding terrorists carried out three suicide bombings at a Football Stadium which was hosting a match between France and Germany. They then went on to commit three shootings and a bomb attack at restaurants and cafes throughout the city, before committing another mass shooting and taking hostages at a rock concert in the Bataclan Theatre.

At the Bataclan, where the band Eagles of Death Metal were performing to a crowd of over 1,500 people, Nick Alexander was working the merchandise table when the attack began. Shot and killed during the ensuing events, Nick’s life and legacy has been enshrined through the work undertaken by the charity set up in his name, the Nick Alexander Memorial Trust. Set up by his sister, Zoe Alexander, following the attack, NAMT awards grants for musical equipment to community groups across the UK, and in particular those representing disadvantaged or marginalised communities.
