Sarri Singer

Davidka Square Bus Bombing - 11.06.2003

Originally hailing from New Jersey, USA, Sarri Singer was volunteering in Israel when she was seriously injured in the Davidka Square suicide bombing. Shortly after she boarded the bus on her way to meet up with a friend, the terrorist detonated his explosive device; claiming the lives of 17 people, in addition to injuring over 100 other passengers and passersby outside the bus. The youngest person to have lost their life was 20 years old, and the oldest was 77. Hamas, an Islamist group, claimed responsibility for the attack.

After recovering from her injuries, Sarri felt she had to do something to help others affected by terrorism and went on to found the non-profit organisation Strength to Strength, which helps build peer-to-peer support between victims of terrorism, whether bereaved, injured, or first responders, around the world.
