Mike Shoesmith

Mike currently serves on our talented team of analysts. Since his personal experiences surviving the London Bridge and Borough Markets terrorist attack, he has pursued a career in countering extremism and helping those affected by it. He has previously completed an internship as a counterterrorism intelligence analyst, and was also selected as a Young Leader in National Security Fellow with the Counter Extremism Group in 2021.

Additionally, Mike also serves as Chair of Counter Terrorism Policing’s National Youth Advisory Group. He holds an MA from Kings College London in Terrorism, Security and Society and works in counter-extremism in London. As part of his role, Mike regularly delivers training on radicalisation to third sector and educational settings as well as working with those being directly affected by extremism and radicalisation.
