Third Anniversary of the Westminster Bridge Attack

The 22nd March marked the third year since the Westminster bridge terror attack in 2017. We had successfully managed to organise the commemoration after our lobbying and with the support of Mayor Khan and Westminster Council, with around 300 attendees in total from survivors, bereaved, and first responders, though we had to postpone the event a week before it would have taken place, and later inevitably cancel it, due to the COVID19 Pandemic. The decision to postpone proved to be the correct one however as the national UK lockdown was announced a day later, and the many people affected from other countries around the world would have been prevented from attending due to travel restrictions.

Fortunately, I was able to get the plaque ordered and we have it finished and produced, ready to be installed at the next anniversary regardless of any restrictions around mass-gatherings due to coronavirus. With enough foreplanning, we can simply transfer much of the work we had put into this year’s event and incorporate it into next year’s event.
