Speaking at the Goethe Institut

I was invited to speak at an event organised by the German cultural organisation, Goethe Institut, and Franco-German Citizens’ Fund, to mark the 17th European Day of Remembrance for Victims of Terrorism. I spoke alongside Cath Hill, a survivor of the Manchester Arena Attack in May 2017 and Founder of the Manchester Survivors Choir, and we discussed how acts of terrorism are commemorated differently across eight different case studies in Europe: Manchester, London, Paris, Nice, Berlin, Stockholm, Barcelona, and Brussels. In addition to the Goethe Institut, we discussed the event with Boris Bocheinski, the photographer responsible for producing the exhibition, and Pia Parolin, a photographer who had documented the aftermath of the Nice Attack and how it was remembered in the public consciousness.
