Martyn’s Law/ Protect Duty Consultation Launched

I was interviewed on BBC North West Tonight as part of their coverage for the Government’s announcement of the commencing of a consultation into the proposed “Protect Duty” legislation, commonly referred to by ‘Martyn’s Law’ in honour of Martyn Hett who lost his life at the Manchester Arena Bombing and in recognition of the fact that the campaign had been spearheaded by his bereaved mother, Figen Murray. This is a piece of common-sense legislation that will improve safety for all citizens across the country, and I hope that businesses and partners will engage positively with the consultation in order to produce something that better protects us all.
